Brooke James
Graduate Hydrologist
Brooke joined WWLA in July 2024 as a Graduate Hydrologist.
Brooke has a Master of Science (Research) in Earth Sciences and a Bachelor of Science (Technology) in Earth and Environmental Sciences from the University of Waikato. Whilst studying Brooke worked part-time at Genera Ltd as an Air Quality Monitor, and at Waikato Regional Council in the role of Data Management.
Through her academic and professional experience, she has gained skills in hand augering and soil profile descriptions, taking water samples, writing reports, using modelling software such as Delft 3D, using MATLAB to analyse and plot data, and using instruments, such as a CTD profiler and YSI, to take measurements in the field.
She enjoys working as a team to solve problems and using practical skills in the field or behind the computer.
Brooke likes to play Under Water Hockey competitively and socially, play the bass guitar, paint, cross stitch and spend time outdoors.
