Asanka Thilakerathne
Environmental Scientist
Asanka joined WWLA as an Intermediate Environmental Scientist in February 2024.
He holds a BSc in Geology from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, and an MSc in Hydrogeology and Environmental Management from the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany. He received training in Groundwater modelling at IHE Delft in the Netherlands.
He has worked in the Groundwater industry for 10 years before joining WWLA. Asanka specialises in Earth Resistivity Tomography (ERT). His previous work primarily focused on Groundwater exploration, recharge, and management. He also has experience in GIS, Groundwater sampling, and Isotope Hydrogeology. Before joining the Groundwater industry, he gained experience in Landslide risk evaluation and mitigation.
In his leisure time, he enjoys spending time with his family and visiting historic places. He also enjoys riding his bicycle and listening to music.
