Benjamin Laeuchil
Contaminated Land Scientist
Ben joined WWLA in August 2024 as a Contaminated Land Scientist.
Ben holds a PhD in Earth Science from the University of Auckland. He came to NZ in 2017 and loved NZ so much that he decided to relocate permanently with his wife and young child.
He has over seven years of experience gained from consultancies in Munich (Germany), where he focused on contaminated land and groundwater.
Ben's expertise spans investigation, analysis, and monitoring, along with planning and managing remediation efforts for contaminated sites. He’s adept at using Python and R for data analysis and has hands-on experience with remote sensing tools like ArcGIS and QGIS.
When he's not working, Ben enjoys spending time with his family, playing the guitar, and practicing Tai Chi.
